About Me

Morgan Erwin

Hi! I’m Morgan, a rising senior at Drake University studying for my BFA in Theatre Directing with a minor in Sociology. I’m originally from Colorado and when I’m not busy with school you can find me hiking, enjoying a concert at Red Rocks, or searching for the best chai tea latte in town!

For as long as I can remember, the arts have been an integral part of my life. From early involvement in choir and theatre programs, I’ve developed a love for storytelling through performing. Since coming to Drake, I’ve spent time exploring my directing abilities and have come to prefer the behind-the-scenes work involved in the show process.

When I’m not involved in shows on campus you can find me as an active member of the social sorority, Alpha Phi, and member of Fermata the Blue. Additionally, I actively participate in personal development of my leadership skills and showcase my love of collaborating with others by serving on three executive councils for student organizations on campus. Serving as the Digital Media Co-Chair for the Student Activities Board (2020-2021) Communications Officer for Fermata The Blue, and Production Manager for Drake Theatre People.

My creative inclination is not limited to my theatrical pursuits. I’ve acquired a passion for photography and videography ever since my mom handed me one of her cameras to play with at a young age. What began as a hobby of photographing friends, theatre productions, and making promotional videos for my high school’s theatre productions, has transformed into my creative focus. I’m enthusiastic about portraits, live entertainment and film photography. Although the idea of the unknown is scary to me by specializing in these areas of photography, it also presents a unique challenge that I’m willing to attack head-on.

After building up an extensive portfolio, I’ve recently decided to create a freelancing business for my work. I understand the importance of capturing a “perfect: moment in time” and love the part I play in that process for my clients. You can view my digital portfolio or follow my photography on Instagram for more look at my work!
